Our editorial approach

Sources, authorship, corrections and the limits of what this website claims.

YUAN EDITORIAL · UPDATED 20 OCTOBER 2026

Three kinds of statement

  1. Calendar calculation: a date, lunar month or heavenly stem produced by the named software library. These calculations can be compared with calendar references.
  2. Traditional interpretation: a recorded rule, symbol or correspondence. A historical source establishes that an idea is recorded; it does not establish a predicted outcome.
  3. Editorial exercise: a question or practical suggestion written for this website. It is labeled as our exercise, rather than attributed to an ancient text.

Preparation and authorship

YUAN Editorial uses AI-assisted drafting and editing, source comparisons, and checks for contradictions, broken links and misleading claims. Kai is a fictional illustrated guide, not a human author or accredited expert. The articles have not been independently certified by a historian, practitioner or medical professional.

We favor identifiable texts and sources appropriate to the claim. Classical texts provide historical and interpretive context; official conversion tables support calendar comparisons; a general sleep reference does not verify a metaphysical bedroom claim.

Sources and corrections

Each guide links to its reading and context. Traditions, translations and editions can disagree. We identify the source or method rather than claiming that every tradition uses the same rules.

If a sentence or translation seems wrong, send a correction with the page URL, the wording in question and a source if available. We examine the claim and update the relevant page when a correction is warranted. The displayed update date changes when that page's content changes, rather than merely when the website is rebuilt.

Read the calendar method, Wuxing, Yin and Yang, and Bagua for specific references.

Visuals and software

The portrait and starfield were supplied for this website; their owner has confirmed public commercial-use permission. Kai is fictional. The decorative Bagua-inspired chart is an illustration, not a calibrated compass or an individualized chart. Contact us about artwork or attribution questions; permission to view the website is not permission to reuse its material.

The calendar includes lunar-javascript 1.7.7 under the MIT license included with this website. Markdown-it 15.0.2 is an MIT-licensed build dependency. Their licenses do not certify our cultural interpretations.

Outcomes and commercial disclosures

We do not promise luck, cures, wealth or relationship results. Our current site has no advertisements, affiliate links, sponsored placements, checkout or paid readings. If the commercial model changes, we will update these disclosures and the relevant privacy information before enabling it.
